For someone who has spent nearly two decades writing, Abhishek Raghunath has had a rather interesting relationship with the word *career*.
Journalism came first. There was the business desk at The Times of India, followed by the founding team at Forbes India two rather good places to learn that behind every business story is usually a person, an ambition and, occasionally, a spectacularly bad decision.
The newsroom eventually gave way to content marketing, but the journalist never quite left. Today, Abhishek leads content at Neil Patel Digital India, having previously headed content at Kotak Cherry, the Kotak Group’s investment app.
His particular fascination, however, sits somewhere between money and human behaviour.
Abhishek writes about money mistakes and behaviour, investing psychology, and modern Indian wealth-building which is another way of saying he is interested in the curious things perfectly sensible people do when money enters the picture.
There has also been plenty of building along the way. In 2012, he set up Family Buddy Educare, an alternative skill-based children’s company. In 2015 came Bayside Journal, a crowdsourced content platform built with students across India. By 2017, Bayside Media had evolved again into a capability-building programme for students, with SEAL as its flagship.
The common thread through all of it is content, but perhaps more importantly, curiosity.
Abhishek has spent years figuring out how to tell a story, how to make people care about one, and how to understand what makes an idea travel.
Today, that instinct extends into the rather fascinating world of money where spreadsheets meet emotion, rational decisions meet irrational behaviour, and everyone thinks they are better investors than they probably are.
